CHALLENGE 6 - 2017

It's time for a new challenge.
Challenge 5 will have no winner, because there were only two entries (which did not qualify for the challenge, but at least these ladies took the time to make something!).

Obviously you do not like to think out of the card-box, so this challenge will be about cards again.

The theme of this challenge is

I would like to see a card with your last vacation, or your next vacation, or a vacation memory from your childhood, something you have seen in one of your vacations, or even your dream vacation.
Anything that links to vacation. BUT I would like to read the story behind your card on your blog!

I hope this them will inspire you a bit more!

Reminder for challenge 5 and...... the WINNER of challenge 4!

Challenge nr. 5 is already halfway, and so far there is only one entry! (and that entry is not exactly what I asked for.....). So in spite of the beautiful weather, please pick up your stamps and start creating! You have got until June 14th just before midnight. With all the beautiful examples it should be possible to create something for a man, preferably not a card but a little present. If you still want to make a card it has to be an elaborate card, preferably with a matching envelope. If you need another example, here is a nice Post-it booklet made by Marlies:

Not too difficult, but a very nice present! And we need at least 5 entries for the challenge.....

And now it is time to announce the winner of challenge 4!
We have unanimously chosen LEANNE HARRIS as the winner. She scored 17 points out of 18!
The second and third place (both 5 points) are Renate (entry nr, 3) and Dora (entry nr. 10).

Congratulations Leanne! You have won a shop credit of 10 euro! Please contact Jetske if you want to know how to claim your prize.

Thank you all for joining the fourth challenge! I've seen a lot of beautiful cards, it will be difficult to choose a winner.
But first a new challenge has to start. The new theme is:

make something for a man

That "something" can be a decorated notebook, or a set of coasters, or a penholder, or a placemat, or whatever you may think of as a gift for a man.
If you cannot think of a present you may make a card, but it has to be a very elaborate card, preferably with a matching envelope. A card like that can also be used as a wall-hanging (so it is a kind of present!)
You have got until June 14th 23:55 h. to enter your creations. That way they will be ready before Father's Day! (at least in The Netherlands, I have discovered that in other countries Father's Day can be on a different date).
Here is some inspiration from the designteam:

Notebook made by Ineke

Elaborate card made by Silke

Altered book made by Silke

Steampunk (altered) clock made by former designer Suzanne

Home deco made by Silke

Glasses case made by former designer Suzanne

I hope these examples will inspire you to make even more beautiful creations.
You can post them here by using the Inlinkz tool.

Winner of challenge 3, reminder for challenge 4!

I almost forgot that May has already begun!
It is time to announce the winner of challenge 3. (imagine a drum now.....)
The winner is:

Again! Sorry! But Caro got 9 points, Alida 6, and Ike, Petra and Dora got 3 points.
So Caro can go shopping (or save her credit for Stempelmekka).
To the others I can only say: don't be disappointed, keep trying, you will winn some time in the future!
For challenge 4 there are only 3 entries at this moment. The theme is bright blue, to chase away the clouds, so put all your bright blue inks and papers on the table, turn on all the lights to imitate the sun, and see what comes to mind. You can take a look at the three entries or at the examples from the designers to get some inspiration.
Here are some examples that were on the designteamblog the past few days:

We need at least 5 entries to choose a winner from, and preferably more!
You may enter as many cards (or ATC, tags, decorations, booklets, boxes etc. etc.) as you want, so let yourself be inspired by the examples and show us your interpretation.
It would be nice if someone else would win the next challenge for a change! :-)
We are looking for surprising interpretations, techniques worked out well, use of new or unexpected materials etc. Something should "catch the eye" or, in this case, make you forget the clouds. You can do it too!
We are looking forward to your creations, you have got until May 14th 23:55 h.!

CHALLENGE 4 - 2017

Thank you all for joining challenge 3, I am happy to see 9 entries (without doubles!).
I hope you will all participate in our new challenge as well, and of course you may enter as many creations as you want!
The weather is showing us mostly grey skies, with some rain, and cold, so maybe we will all feel better if we see some

(forget the winter-part in the left corner, LOL)

You have until May 14th 23:55 to enter your artwork.
On May 1st the winner of challenge 3 will be announced.

Winner of challenge 2, and reminder for challenge 3

All designers have cast their votes, and the winner is .............

Rosie !!!!

Congratulations Rosie! If you are visiting the Art Specially show this weekend you can claim your prize of 10 euro shop credit right there, and if you are not coming to the show you can use your credit for an internet order.

Number 2 was the first card of Ike (factor 50), number 3 was Renate and number 4 was Hanne. It was a close call this time, just 1 point in between numbers 2, 3 and 4.
The artwork was very, very beautiful, you all gave us a hard time deciding what was the most beautiful, most intricate and most theme-related piece.
I hope you will all keep sending in artwork, and give us a hard time every month! :-)))

Please don't forget challenge 3, there's only 1 entry so far. We still need at least 5, so put some stamps on your desk and start stamping! There is no specific theme, so you can use the stamps you like most (as long as they are being sold by De Stempelwinkel of course), and when your card is ready making the envelope is not that difficult anymore. Just repeat one of the stamps you used, that's the most simple way of doing it. When you want to make your envelope stand out more you can stamp more, don't forget to keep an open space for the address (and that may be De Stempelwinkel, if you want to become famous... I can show it in my booth/shop!)

Have a nice weekend,

Jetske Masmeijer

Challenge 3

I am at the Creativa in Dortmund right now, and the internet in our "home" for this week was down.
So I cannot launch challenge 3 right now, but I will do that later this week in a free moment.
The "theme" will be: make a card with a matching envelope (mail art).
You can start already, and enter your work later when the post is ready.
Have fun!
